| ———– chapter ————— Anna and Splash flew nearly all the way across the sky before they got their panic under control. While Buzzy and Dan had their experience at the inn, Anna and Splash retraced some of their flight across the sky. They stopped at the caves which overlook the valley where Hubert and his family live. “These are the caves that Ozzy recommended we stay in until my parents are located.” Anna said to Splash. He had switched back to his miniature size since there was no need to carry Anna. The two sat outside a cave that overlooked the Twisted River Canyon. It was a beautiful day. In the valley below they saw people traveling down the main road, some on horses and some walking. One man was leading an ox which was pulling a cart loaded with watermelons. A woman and her three daughters followed behind the cart leading Anna to conclude they must be the family belonging to the man who was leading the ox. The sunlight which was shining down on all this suddenly became much less. It was very noticeable and caused both Anna and Splash to look up to see what was blocking the sun. Geese Police! The two friends hunkered down a little more behind the rocks and trees surrounding the mouth of their cave. They watched the Geese Police squadron stay in formation as it arrived then they went into dive mode. The big snow geese came flying down in front of the man leading the ox. Anna’s perspective revealed the Geese Police were violent, angry interrogators. She saw them yelling and squawking at the man while pushing him around and then they shot the ox which fell over dead. The weight of the dead ox caused the cart full of watermelons to tip over. They went rolling in all directions. Anna could see that many of them were broken open.
