Anna and the Pony 59

Everyone in the valley was celebrating and dancing. Anna danced with Splash. Buzzy grabbed a reluctant Dan who went into a tirade about how there was a reason Dam Ducks didn’t dance. “We’ve got webbed feet! Dam Ducks don’t dance cause of their webbed-feet.”

“Stop your complaining you old sack of feathers. Hey I saw a saloon that was open. What say we go and just have one drink?”

Dan checked his pockets. They were empty. Buzzy caught on to the idea, and so he checked his pockets too. Neither one had any money at all. What were they to do?
“Wonder how many drinks you could buy with a gold coin? Ozzy said, walking up from behind his two friends. “Probably just one. What a shame. I hate to drink alone. But sometimes you have to make do with what you have. Well, …. you boys take care now. I’m going to go see how far this gold coin will get me?”

Ozzy walked off leaving Buzzy and Dan looking at one another. Buzzy said, “You know that isn’t his gold coin. I know because I know where he got it!”

“Hey that’s right! This Dam Duck knows where he got it too. You thinking what I’m thinking?” Dan asked.

“Great minds think alike!” Buzzy replied.

In unison the two stood up and cried out, “Splash! We need you to do a poopy!”
As Ozzy was entering the saloon, he stopped for a moment. He thought he could have sworn he heard a jingle, followed by the sound of feathers being ruffled like they had been in a huge hurry.

“Wait for us Ozzy!” The two friends cried out in unison. “Wait! We’ve got a poopy!”.
