His thoughts kept him occupied until they reached the spot where they went down the mountain for a ways. In this area it was not sunny. There were trees all along the path where they made their way down to the spot where they could grab the rope and swing across.

“There it is!” Rev shouted.

BG produced some ropes. They threw a few more across the same limb that had anchored their first rope the year before. Now they would have enough ropes stretched across for each of them to have their own. They let the ropes drop down after getting the other ends tied off.

Next they climbed down further until reaching the near end of the ropes they had let drop. Now they could swing across holding onto the ropes. Each kid did that, every one hollering as they flew across the divide to the other side. It was a moment of danger because if any one of them had let go they would have fell far enough it would have hurt, if not killed them. Lucky they only had to hold on tight for a second or two and then they were across and safe on the other side. Once they landed safely they each tied off their ropes so they would be there when the kids came back at the end of the day.

Once on the other side they all scrambled up the mountain to where the lake was located. There is a meadow that surrounds the lake on three sides. They ran across it and splashed into the water. Once they were well-wet, they started looking around for their big friend to appear.
