| When it came time for foraging grandpa Fuddy came around and told everyone that the kids could not go out. The guards had sent word there was likely an owl on the hunt that night. It had been spotted earlier. It didn’t bother Funny too much. He wasn’t hungry anyway. He could only think about Polly and how his time with her was shrinking with each passing day. He needed to make a move if he was going to keep her for himself. The problem was he didn’t know what he should do? Even if he freed Polly, that was just the beginning of their problems. They couldn’t stay where they were at if he had to help Polly escape. The owners would eventually see Polly and they would capture her. So if he freed Polly then they needed a plan for what to do afterwards? They could make a move to an area adjacent to where the colony had its burrow. Set up their own colony and dig their own burrow. The Robinsons was probably not a good choice for real estate due to their two cats. Then he remembered the house opposite of the Robinsons. It was for sale. Currently there was no owner to the property. That might be the perfect place for him and Polly to find happiness. He would go over and check it out in the daylight hours. Now he needed to talk to Polly. He left the burrow and made his way over to the cages. He started to call out for Polly who was in a cage that was about four feet above the ground. Suddenly he heard a voice, a male voice, speaking to Polly. “Polly, you are going to be my wife.” Frederic said in a confident tone. “Polly remember that even if you were able to somehow get free of the cage to be with your wild one, that I would track you down. Your little wild rabbit wouldn’t stand a chance.” Hearing all that, Funny decided he was going to have trouble with that rabbit. There was no time to worry about that however, tomorrow he had the most dangerous day of his young life coming up if he was to get his plan into play. next page | ![]() ![]() |
