“I forgive you old buddy.” Dan placed a wing gently on his friend’s shoulder, and looked at him so very sincerely, so very caring, and said, “Sometimes i forget what a short, short stick you were given in life. You eat things that smell just awful, which doesn’t do you any favors, but you should know that nobody blames a bird for not being able to fly while carrying mouthwash with them everywhere they go. Why the sheer amount of rejection that you must get on a daily basis … well it is enough to give me the strength to not turn away when you talk to me. Count on me old friend! I won’t disappear on you just because your breath smells like the cross between the back end of a fat skunk and raw chicken left out in the hot sun all day. Not me ol’ chum!” Buzzy rolled his eyes and said, “That’s such a relief.”
Ozzy had been lost in his own thoughts. He happened to pick up the last few words spoke. “What’s a relief? Did you figure out who is doing all the crime?” “No, just that having some … folks, for friends, should be a crime.” Buzzy said, not taking his eyes off Dan until he was through. Then he looked at Ozzy and said, “I have made a couple of deductions. The first, I have concluded after having visited the scene of the crime. There I was able to see clues which I will now reveal to you.”
Dan waddled up and said, “Obviously it was a bunch of desperate criminals, probably on the FBI most wanted list, and they were quite short for criminals, and they had a shaggy dog that was not house trained, based on the poopy spots around the place.” “What was the other deduction you made?” Ozzy asked.
